It has an enclosed steel gear, which is protected from the elements and is more durable than a nylon/poly gear. It has grease fittings on the bearings, providing longer life to the bearings and ultimately the spreader. It has an easy adjustment mechanism for precise spread settings. It comes with easy assembly that should take no longer than 10 minutes. It includes a rain guard and screen.
